We established Charming Cavaliers because of our passion and love for the Cavalier breed. I have always been an animal lover. I was very lucky growing up that my mother shared my passion for animals and let me have a small "zoo" in our home. I had about 50+ fancy mice that I bred to produce longhaired mice. We also had reptiles, birds, fish, rabbits, other rodents, cats and dogs. One of our most unusual pets for an urban home was our female mallard duck. My background in breeding and showing started in 1993 with English Bulldog's. I co-owned and showed a beautiful male named PJ, He was amazing in the ring. Up to this point in my life I have had many breeds of dogs, an Alaskan Malamute, Cocker Spaniel, Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, English Bulldog, Shih Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Pinscher, Papillion and a Doberman Pinscher. They were all wonderful dogs and have a special place in my heart but, as a breed they can't compare to the Cavalier. The Cavalier breed with its versatility is a very special one and has taken over my heart. The Cavaliers happy outgoing attitude combined with their sporting nature all in a compact size makes them the perfect loving companion and in my opinion the best breed there is. Charming Cavaliers is a small show/hobby breeder dedicated to improving the Cavalier breed. We breed top quality AKC registered Cavaliers for health, temperament, conformation and beauty. Our Cavaliers are champion sired with multiple champions in their lines. All of our beloved Cavaliers are regularly health screened prior to breeding. They have an overall check up by our vet, hearts cleared annually by a Cardiologist and eyes cleared by an Ophthalmologist. All outside studs we use are from reputable breeders who also perform regular health tests. Current health certifications for all our breeding Cavaliers are available upon request to buyers. Our beloved Cavaliers are important members of our family, they are loved family pets before they are show dogs or parents. They live indoors and sleep in our bedroom if they choose; they have “dog” beds to pick from throughout the house. We have a limited number of litters per year which allows us more time for each litter and allows our girls time to rest in between litters. Our puppies are well socialized on a daily basis from birth. They are raised in our home and are accustomed to common household sounds. Our puppies are whelped around children, other dogs and cats. In order to give our puppies the best start possible we feel it’s necessary to keep them with their mother and littermates until they are 10 weeks of age. The earliest we will allow a puppy to leave our care is 8 weeks of age. We believe the extra time gives our puppies a head start so they will become more confident and well-adjusted adults. The essential skills they learn from their mother and littermates are carried with them throughout life.
